What Is SEO?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.
It’s a way to increase the number of visitors to your website by ensuring that it ranks well in the search engine results pages (SERPs) for specific keywords.

For example, if your company is selling books online, you’d want your website to appear on the first page of the search results when people search for “books” or “buy books.”

There are several ways to ensure that your site ranks highly in the SERPs. One of the best ways is to put links to your site on other websites. That’s called building a backlink profile.

Another great way to ensure that your site ranks well is to start a blog and post quality, shareable content on a regular basis. That’s called content marketing.

It’s also important to ensure that your site is properly optimized for the various search engines. That’s called “onsite SEO” and typically requires the aid of a tool that crawls all over your site looking for problems that the search engine bots might encounter.

At NETPRO, we’ll put all of our available resources to work to ensure that your site ranks as high in the SERPs as possible.

What is Google RankBrain?

DATE GOOGLE CONFIRMED EXISTENCE OF RANKBRAIN: OCTOBER 26TH, 2015
RankBrain is a component of Google’s core algorithm which uses machine learning (the ability of machines to teach themselves from data inputs) to determine the most relevant results to search engine queries. Pre-RankBrain, Google utilized its basic algorithm to determine which results to show for a given query. Post-RankBrain, it is believed that the query now goes through an interpretation model that can apply possible factors like the location of the searcher, personalization, and the words of the query to determine the searcher’s true intent. By discerning this true intent, Google can deliver more relevant results.

The machine learning aspect of RankBrain is what sets it apart from other updates. To “teach” the RankBrain algorithm to produce useful search results, Google first “feeds” it data from a variety of sources. The algorithm then takes it from there, calculating and teaching itself over time to match a variety of signals to a variety of results and to order search engine rankings based on these calculations. Not having HTTPS will penalize the SEO of your website?

Did you know that if you do not have an SSL certificate if your web does not serve your URL in HTTPS and you have some form of password database, contact forms, a shop, have to accept payments via cards or similar, your SEO will be seriously harmed!

Why not having HTTPS can penalize my SEO?

Simple, because Google has already announced on its security blog that from July 2018 they will mark the websites insecure in Chrome browser if the site contains some type of unencrypted data if there is no HTTPS.

What is HTTPS?

HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) is an internet communication protocol that protects the integrity and confidentiality of data between the user's computer and the site. Users expect a secure and private online experience when using a website. We encourage you to adopt HTTPS in order to protect your users' connections to your website, regardless of the content on the site.
Data sent using HTTPS is secured via Transport Layer Security protocol (TLS), which provides three key layers of protection:

Encryption—encrypting the exchanged data to keep it secure from eavesdroppers. That means that while the user is browsing a website, nobody can "listen" to their conversations, track their activities across multiple pages, or steal their information.
Data integrity—data cannot be modified or corrupted during transfer, intentionally or otherwise, without being detected.
Authentication—proves that your users communicate with the intended website. It protects against man-in-the-middle attacks and builds user trust, which translates into other business benefits.

Will this affect the SEO of your website?

YES, because there will be an undetermined number of users who, seeing such notification, will think about whether to continue browsing your website or not. Are you willing to play with your website? Let’s not say what if you have an online store. This will be reflected in an increase in the rate of rebound (abandonment) of your website and in the times of permanence, and in traffic finally, which will sooner or later be reflected in a loss of positions in the SERP (Search Engine Results Pages)

How does an HTTP web differ from an HTTPS?

Basically in the following:

HTTP
You have no data traffic security.
Send data in plain text.
Load faster because they send little data.
Google does not have a special affection in their commitment making the web more secure.

HTTPS
Much more security than HTTP.
Send data in encrypted format.
They can load somewhat slower than the same page using HTTP.
Google rewards them with better positions, despite being somewhat slower.

What websites will it affect?

Well, any website that collects any type of information, cookies, keeps passwords or credit cards, all WordPress with access of users, social network, community, forum and online store, etc..

If you want to get your business noticed online in a BIG way I highly recommend NETPRO! They create a website for my business that is already paying for itself! They take the time to really learn your business. Thank you for your great work! I look forward to working with you in the future.
